Conversations with business and cultural pioneers about leadership and the transformation of their industries
October 27, 2025 — Goldman Sachs will host a Talks at GS forum featuring Lawrence Cunningham, Director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance. He will be interviewed by John F. W. Rogers, Executive Vice President and member of the Goldman Sachs Management Committee.
The conversation will explore the legacy of John L. Weinberg—former Senior Partner of Goldman Sachs and founding benefactor of the Weinberg Center—with a focus on his contributions to corporate governance. The discussion will highlight the Center’s recent research, including the first-time publication of Mr. Weinberg’s 1948 Princeton thesis, Status and Functions of Corporate Directors.
Mr. Rogers, who worked closely with John L. Weinberg during their years at Goldman Sachs, will draw on personal insights to enrich the conversation. The interview will take place live at Goldman Sachs headquarters for employees, with a recorded version to be made available through the firm’s Talks at GS platform.
