About the Center

John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance was established in 2000 at the University of Delaware and is part of the Lerner College of Business and Economics. It is one of the longest-standing corporate governance centers in academia, and the first and only corporate governance center in the State of Delaware, the legal home for a majority of the nation’s public corporations.
FOUNDERS & VISION
The Weinberg Center seeks to be a preeminent thought leader in corporate governance. We aim to honor the legacy of the Center’s early visionaries, founders and benefactors, including Delaware Chancellor William T. Allen, an intellectual visionary, and John L. Weinberg, a director of DuPont and senior partner of Goldman Sachs, who was a generous early supporter.
The Weinberg Center offers a neutral venue for informed dialogue, debate, and learning about corporate governance. We convene and foster a wide variety of gatherings designed to shape and influence corporate governance both within Delaware and beyond.
