About the Center

John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance was established in 2000 at the University of Delaware and is part of the Lerner College of Business and Economics. It is one of the longest-standing corporate governance centers in academia, and the first and only corporate governance center in the State of Delaware, the legal home for a majority of the nation’s public corporations.
FOUNDERS & VISION
The vision of the Weinberg Center is to continue being recognized as a preeminent thought leader in the field of corporate governance. We aim to honor the legacy of the Center’s founders: Delaware Chancellor William T. Allen, its intellectual founder, and John L. Weinberg, longtime Chairman of Goldman Sachs, who provided its founding support.
The Weinberg Center offers a neutral forum for informed dialogue, teaching, and learning about corporate governance. The Center fosters interactions designed to shape and influence corporate governance debates and developments both nationally and internationally.
